Connect Two Routers Together

If two routers are connected together by their ethernet ports or via WDS:-
To achieve this on two Thomson routers we will change the settings on the remote router only and leave the broadband connected router with it's default settings.

Login to the remote router and go to  Home Network > Interfaces > LocalNetwork > Configure

Click Edit

Change the routers IP from 192.168.1.254 to 192.168.1.1    click "Apply"

Login to the router on it's new IP of 192.168.1.1 and go to  Home Network > Interfaces > LocalNetwork > Configure

Remove the tick from "Use DHCP Server" and click "Apply"

You will now lose connection to this router but don't worry, connection will be restored when the two are connected together.
Connect the two routers together via ethernet or WDS and the PC will get it's network settings from the DHCP server of the primary router.
This will extend the local network across the two routers and allow internet access from any device connected to either router.
The primary router GUI is still accessed and 192.168.1.254, the remote routers GUI is now accessed on 192.168.1.1

Note:
If the two routers are in different rooms and connected via ethernet or via a pair of homeplugs this can be used to extend the wireless range:-
Set the wireless on both routers to the same SSID with the same security settings but using different wireless channels.
This will allow a laptop to be moved around the house and it will seamlessly connect to the wireless of whichever router is closest.
